Spark! Imagination and Science Center in Morgantown, WV is a great place to take kids to play and explore interactive science and art exhibits.
My family enjoyed our first visit on a cold winter day while we paired it with some shopping in the area. I’m sharing some of my takeaways as a first-time visitor.

Here are some pictures to give you and idea of the space. I imagine some of these exhibits might change or rotate.
What to Expect
- The museum is located in the Mountaineer Mall with ample parking available.
- One large room hosts several exhibits and play areas. It’s not overly huge, so if you are considering a stroller, I would probably suggest you can get by without one, especially if your little ones will be out and about exploring.
- My kids were 1 and 3 years old during our visit and they and had a great time. We saw some babies up to about age 8 if I had to guess. I don’t think the target audience for the space is older children or teens, but if you had them with you, I still think they would have a fun time. I know I had fun as an adult and saw many adults and children playing together which to me was the best part about the experience.
Here are some more up-close pictures of the activities they engaged in. Big shoutout to the other random mom who together we built the dinosaur!
