There are plenty of opportunities to get your spook on in Fayette County, PA. After living in many states, I’ve learned there’s just no place like home for Halloween. I’m grateful my family doesn’t have to travel far for Halloween fun.

Group Bonfire Packing List

Organizing or attending a group bonfire? I attended a bonfire at Allen’s and Reskovac Farms. Both farms provided a site with a fire pit (wood provided), and a picnic table. Here is what else I would suggest bringing (make it easy on yourself and ask others to contribute some of these items).

  • I can’t say enough about how much I have used our collapsible wagon. I find it helpful to throw everything in our wagon to haul to our site.
  • Tablecloth
  • Camp chairs
  • Lantern (for light on the table) and flashlights or a headlamp
  • I find it easiest to focus on finger foods so to avoid plates and silverware (one less thing to worry about, plus both farms also had concessions or a food truck). Some ideas include, pizza, pepperoni rolls, chicken tenders, etc. Then, we usually make hot dogs and s’mores over the fire (graham crackers, marshmallows, Hershey’s chocolate bars, hot dogs, buns, ketchup/mustard).
  • Roasting sticks
  • Additional snacks – chips, pretzels, cookies, etc.
  • Napkins, paper towels, and wet wipes for sticky s’mores fingers
  • Garbage bags
  • Bluetooth speaker
  • Cooler for drinks
  • Kids drinks – juice boxes, gatorade, and/or bottled water (the kids run around and get thirsty)
  • Adults – BYOB (pro tip – pudding shots (vanilla, chocolate, butterscotch, and/or pumpkin) with RumChata are a hit)
  • Koozies
  • Bonus – pack a thermos or an insulated growler with hot chocolate or warm apple cider
  • Extra fun for the kids – glow sticks, foam glow sticks, light up glasses, glow in the dark ball
  • Parent tip – when my kids were little, I often had them wear a light up vest so I could more easily keep track of them (these double as safety vests when we walk, bike, or scoot around the neighborhood when it’s dark).
