Gear Review
Sun protection is something I’ve only recently become mindful of as I get older. When it comes to sun hats, my family looks no further than Sunday Afternoons.
It started with my son’s sun hat. Now everyone in my family wears Sunday Afternoons Sun Hats. I randomly tried a sun hat for him while shopping on Amazon. I was looking for a hat with decent coverage and one that didn’t fall off or twist around easily.
Maybe it’s a coincidence, but I’m more inclined to think it’s because of how well they are designed. But, this was the first hat I came across that stayed put and he actually kept on his head. At two years old, he even began to request to wear his hat.
Features
There are so many great features that you should read all about on the Sunday Afternoons website, like their UPF 50+ rating. But there are a few features we especially love.
The wide brim and the back of the hat provide great coverage for the face, neck, and shoulders.
The sun hats are water and stain resistant. My son often wears his hat when he goes swimming.
They are collapsible so they fold and pack well. We throw them in strollers, shove them in diaper bags, pack them in a suitcases and they retain their shape.
They are adjustable. I love this feature not only for my kid’s growing heads but also for myself. For whatever reason, a lot of hats don’t fit me right and it’s nice to be able to adjust the size.
Our adult hats have slots for sunglasses. As a mom, I love anything that is hands free. My sunglasses feel secure in the slots and it’s one less thing I’m looking for.

For myself, I went for the Shade Goddess Hat because it has a ponytail hole and I don’t like when my hair touches my neck.
We’ve been very happy overall with our sun hats. I’m now interested in their other types of hats. What kinds of hats do you like? My son’s forest school required these, and we’ve fallen in love with them too. Comfortable sun protection makes a huge difference!

Sounds like good hats, still looking for a sun hat that I can go in the water with.
